A virtual meeting of all members is planned for 30.12.2021, as in the previous year. The access data will be announced to all members in advance. Last year Nigel Brown (RC Sydney-Cove) presented his area. Who will give a presentation about his rowing area this year? A trip on a church boat across the Rhine and Main rivers is planned for the spring. The implementation depends on the development of the covid pandemic. For the time from 01. to 04. September 2022 Wolfgang Litzenburger (RC Mainz) has planned a trip on the Havel. You will find more details here. hier! In summer Sorin Gheorghiu and Valer Crisan (RC Blaj) had planned a ride through the Danube Delta. Due to the high incidences in Romania, we have postponed this trip to summer 2023. Instead, Paul Geisendorfer (RC Rosenheim-Innstadt) will organize a trip on a part of the Danube closer to us as soon as circumstances allow.

  • End-of-year meeting Already in 2019 and 2020, we have met for a worldwide joint virtual meeting at the end of the year. We intend to do the same this year. Last year Nigel Brown introduced Sidney to us. Also this year a member will introduce his rowing club and rowing area. The meeeting will take place at the same time as last year, i.e. on 30 December at 9:30 am CET (UCT -1). The access data will be announced later. • Havel

Hiking trip across the Havel lakes around Potsdam On this hiking trip from September 1 up to and including September 4, 2022, in addition to the Great Wannsee, which is the start and finish, we will experience the Peacock Island in Lake Jungfernsee, pass under the Glienicke Bridge into the Deep Lake, past Potsdam to Lake Templin. We then continue to Lake Petzin, through the picturesque Wentowgraben, an enchanted inlet, into Lake Schwielow, and then further along the Havel to the island town of Werder. From there, we row across the large and small Zernsee lakes further and further along the Havel to Ketzin. On the second day the tour leads from there through the idyllic lower Havel to Brandenburg with its picturesque cathedral island; on the same way we go back to Ketzin. On the third day we row then through the Sacrow-Paretzer canal over the Jungfernsee northeast of Potsdam as well as over the Havel to Spandau. On the departure day another spectacular ride in Spandau is on the program in the morning. There we "row" through the canals of "Little Venice" and then return to the rowing club next to the Liebermann Villa. The total distance is a little more than 130 km.This tour is very varied and takes us past many wooded banks, some with villas, islands, parks and bridges, as well as picturesque little towns. We will row through Potsdam with a view of the Landtag and Garrison Church. On the last day we will row through the idyllic Little Venice in Berlin-Spandau.A land service as on rivers is not planned, as we will return to the hotel in Potsdam by bus from each of the stage destinations. Instead, an attractive sightseeing program is planned for those who do not row: Liebermann Villa, Wannsee Conference House, Peacock Island, Glienicke Bridge, Sanssouci Palace and Park, New Palace, boat tour, Dutch Quarter in Potsdam, Cathedral Island in Brandenburg (Havel), etc.I have also found interesting restaurants for the joint dinners. I am trying to organize the necessary trips of the rowers as well as the participants of the accompanying program with large-capacity cabs or with a bus company.I intend to reserve rooms in a hotel near both Sanssouci Palace and the picturesque Dutch Quarter of Potsdam. From the Potsdam Rowing Club Germania, which is located next to the Liebermann Villa, we can borrow a maximum of 3 gig fours with coxswain/woman. I already have a promise from Mr. Langer! Those who are not assigned to rowing will participate in the accompanying program.
