To mark the 10th anniversary of IFoRR, our Croatian members are offering an exceptional tour on the Danube; they are currently gauging initial interest in the event.
Anniversary Cruise – On the Danube from Batina to Ilok
Challenging rowing tour totaling 97 km, split into 3 stages:
- Tag: Batina (Zeleni Otok) – Aljamš: ca. 45km Einstieg auf der „Grünen Insel“ (Zeleni Otok), vorbei an der Mündung der Drau bis zum bekannten Wallfahrtsort Aljamš
- Tag Aljamš – Vukovar: ca. 47km eine landschaftlich wunderschöne Etappe, vorbei an den steilen Lösswänden des Weinbaugebiets Erdut
- Tag Vukovar – Ilok: ca. 12km eine kurze Etappe mit interessanten Stätten die archäologische Fundstätte Vučedol und einer sehr breiten Donau, die hier diue Grenze zu Serbien bildet. Ilok ist die östlichste Stadt Kroatiens und berühmt für seine Festung und seine Weinkeller.
We will be staying in hotels in Aljmaš, Vukovar, and/or Ilok. The details of this trip still need to be discussed further with our Croatian members.
Sightseeing attractions:
- Schloss Eltz in Vukovar: Das barocke Schloss Eltz in Vukovar war einst ein Wohnsitz der Familie des Mainzer Kurfürsten Philipp Karl von Eltz. Seit 1968 beherbergen die geschichtsträchtigen Gemäuer ein Museum.
- Marienwallfahrtsort Aljamš
- Osijek, das wirtschaftliche und kulturelle Zentrum der Region Slawonien
- Ausgrabungsstätte der Vučedol-Kultur bei Vukovar

Around the island of Reichenau in Lake Constance
The starting point for all rowing tours is the island of Reichenau in Lake Constance. We will be staying at the Strandhotel Löchnerhaus the entire time. We will rent the boats from the Neptun Rowing Club in Konstanz.
The following tours are planned:
- Stein am Rhein (2 x 15 km)
- Kreuzlingen Rowing Club (2 x 12 km) [not possible with >12 km/h wind speed].
- Circumnavigation of the island of Reichenau with destination Allensbach Restaurant Seegarten (10 km + 5 km)
- Zellerseerunde with destination rowing club Undine in Radolfzell (12 km + 6 km)
- Rowing club Neptun Konstanz (boat hire) (10 km)
The following is recommended for the sightseeing program:
- Visit the 3 Romanesque churches on the island of Reichenau
- Lake Dwelling Museum in Unteruhldingen
- Mainau Island
- Constance: church, council, half-timbered houses
- Überlingen and Meersburg
Drei-Seentour in Bayern – Starnberger See, Ammersee und Forggensee
The starting point for this touring trip is Herrsching am Ammersee. We can begin by staying either at the Seespitz Guesthouse... https://www.seespitz-gaestehaus.de , im Hotel Alpenglühn https://www.hotelalpengluehn.com/de/oder im Seehof Herrsching https://seehof-ammersee.de We rent the boats from TSV Herrsching on Lake Ammersee and from the Tutzing Rowing Club (1983) on Lake Starnberg. The drive to Lake Starnberg is 30 km each way (a 30-minute drive).
A very special tour awaits us on Lake Forggensee, with a view of Neuschwanstein. We will relocate to Füssen and stay at the Hotel Alpenglühen or a similar establishment. We will rent the boats from the 1. Ruderclub Forggensee in Rieden.
With an area of 15.2 km², it is the fifth-largest lake in Bavaria—after the Ammersee and Walchensee—and, in terms of surface area, the largest reservoir in Germany. Thanks to its impressive location set against the mountain panorama of the Allgäu Alps and the royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, combined with its typically mirror-smooth water surface, it ranks among the most beautiful rowing venues in all of Germany. The lake holds water only between June 1 and October 15.

- TSV Herrsching – Aidenried – Dießen – Herrsching (18 km) [nicht möglich bei >12 km/h Windgeschwindigkeit]
- TSV Herrsching – Eching – Schondorf – Utting – Herrsching (24 km) [nicht möglich bei >12 km/h Windgeschwindigkeit]
- Forggensee-Rundfahrt (25km) Rieden – Rieden

- Andechs Monastery
- Assumption of the Virgin Mary Minster in Dießen am Ammersee
- Rose Island on Lake Starnberg near Tutzing
