For IFoRR's traditional rowing trip in 2026, there are three destinations and four time periods to choose from.
1. Around the island of Reichenau in Lake Constance
The starting point for all rowing tours is the island of Reichenau in Lake Constance. We will be staying at the Strandhotel Löchnerhaus the entire time. We will rent the boats from the Neptun Rowing Club in Konstanz.
The following tours are planned:
- Stein am Rhein (2 x 15 km)
- Kreuzlingen Rowing Club (2 x 12 km) [not possible with >12 km/h wind speed].
- Circumnavigation of the island of Reichenau with destination Allensbach Restaurant Seegarten (10 km + 5 km)
- Zellerseerunde with destination rowing club Undine in Radolfzell (12 km + 6 km)
- Rowing club Neptun Konstanz (boat hire) (10 km)
The following is recommended for the sightseeing program:
- Visit the 3 Romanesque churches on the island of Reichenau
- Lake Dwelling Museum in Unteruhldingen
- Mainau Island
- Constance: church, council, half-timbered houses
- Überlingen and Meersburg
2. Starnberger See and Ammersee
The starting point for this hiking trip is Herrsching am Ammersee. We will stay there in the Hotel Chalet am Kiental. We borrow the boats from TSV Herrsching on Lake Ammersee and from the Tutzinger Rowing Club 1983 on Lake Starnberg. The journey to Lake Starnberg is 30 km each (journey time 1/2 hour).
The following tours are planned:
- Tutzinger RV - Münchener RC in Starnberg and back (22 km) [not possible with >12 km/h wind speed].
- Tutzinger RV - Bernried - Seeshaupt - Ambach -Tutzing (16 km) [not possible with >12 km/h wind speed].
- TSV Herrsching - Aidenried - Dießen - Herrsching (18 km) [not possible with >12 km/h wind speed].
- TSV Herrsching - Eching - Schondorf - Utting - Herrsching (24 km) [not possible with >12 km/h wind speed].
The following is recommended for the sightseeing program:
- Benediktbeuren
- Museum Buchheim in Bernried on Lake Starnberg
- Andechs Monastery
- Assumption of the Virgin Mary Minster in Dießen am Ammersee
- Rose Island on Lake Starnberg near Tutzing
- Künstlerhaus Gasteiger on the Ammersee
3. Mecklenburg Lake District
The starting point for this tour is Mirow. We will be staying at the Hotel Alte Schlossbrauerei. The boats will be rented from Ruderverein Blau-Weiß Mirow. Rowing club Blau-Weiß in Mirow.
The following day tours are planned (no change possible during the day tour!):
- Mirow - Bolter Lock on the Bolter Canal (lunch break at Müritzfischer Fischers Land Boek) and back (2 x 14 km)
- Mirow - bathing beach at Schwarzer See (lunch break Bella Napoli) and back (2 x 14 km)
- Mirow - Rechlin pier with sandy beach (lunch break at Möwennest) and back (2 x 12 km, 1 lock there and back)
- Mirow - bathing beach at Labussee and back (2 x 13 km, 1 lock there and back)
The following is recommended for the sightseeing program:
- Mirow Castle
- Waren an der Müritz with boat trip
- Rheinsberg Castle and Town
- Slavic Village Open-Air Museum and the town of Neustrelitz
- Aviation museum in Rechlin
