2022 Rowing trip across the Havel lakes around Potsdam

2022 Wanderfahrt über die Havelseen rund um Potsdam

On this hiking trip from September 1 up to and including September 4, 2022, in addition to the Great Wannsee, which is the start and finish, we will experience the Peacock Island in Lake Jungfernsee, pass under the Glienicke Bridge into the Deep Lake, pass Potsdam to Lake Templin. Then it goes on to the Petzinsee, through the picturesque Wentowgraben, an enchanted

The second day, the tour leads from there through the idyllic lower Havel to Brandenburg with its picturesque cathedral island; the same route leads back to Ketzin.

On the third day we rowed through the Sacrow-Paretz Canal across the Jungfernsee northeast of Potsdam and across the Havel to Spandau.

On our day of departure, we rowed to the Berlin Rowing Club of 1878, where we received a warm welcome. From there, we returned to the rowing club next to the Liebermann Villa.

The total distance is a little more than 130 km.

This tour is very varied and takes us past many forested banks, some with villas, islands, parks and bridges as well as picturesque little towns. We row through Potsdam and have a view of the Landtag and Garrison Church.

A land service as on rivers is not planned, as we will return to the hotel in Potsdam by bus from each of the stage destinations. Instead, an attractive sightseeing program is planned for those who do not row: Liebermann Villa, Wannsee Conference House, Peacock Island, Glienicke Bridge, Sanssouci Palace and Park, New Palace, boat tour, Dutch Quarter in Potsdam, Cathedral Island in Brandenburg (Havel), etc. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

We found interesting restaurants for our shared dinners.

We can borrow a maximum of 3 gig fours with coxswain from the Potsdam Rowing Club Germania, which is located next to the Liebermann Villa. I already have a promise from Mr Langer! Those who are not assigned to rowing will take part in the accompanying programme.
